DarkChess Privacy Policy

About this policy

This policy explains how the DarkChess Android app (package com.ssamiyal.darkchess), published by SAMIYAL Technologies ("SAMIYAL", "we", "us"), handles information.

In short: DarkChess has no accounts and no sign-in. Your games and progress stay on your device, and the chess engine runs on your phone. We do not run servers that collect your data. The app shows ads through Google AdMob and sells optional items through Google Play, and those Google services collect some information as described below.

Information stored on your device

To make the app work, DarkChess stores the following only on your device. It is never sent to us:

• Games you play (moves, results and dates), campaign progress, crowns and coins
• Puzzle attempts and statistics
• Your settings, such as your board theme
• Which premium items you own, so they stay unlocked offline

You can delete this information at any time by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the app. If you have turned on Android's backup to your Google account, Android may include this data in your device backup; that backup is handled by Google under your Google account settings, and we cannot see or access it.

Chess engine

The computer opponent (Stockfish) runs entirely on your device. Your moves are never sent anywhere to be analysed.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

DarkChess is supported by ads provided by Google AdMob: banners on some menu screens, occasional full-screen ads between games and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch; ads are never shown on the board during a game. To show and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, personalise ads, Google may collect and process information such as:

• Your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers
• Your IP address and approximate location derived from it
• Device and app information (for example, device model, operating system version, app version)
• Information about ads shown and your interactions with them

This information is collected by Google, not by us, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. Learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Your choices: where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area and the UK), DarkChess asks for your consent through Google's consent form before ads are personalised. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy settings when it is available in your region. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your Android device settings.

Purchases (Google Play)

DarkChess offers optional purchases: DarkChess Premium (which removes ads) and individual board themes. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card or payment details. Google Play tells the app which items your Google account owns, along with an order reference, so the app can unlock them and restore them after a reinstall. Google handles payment information under Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service.

What we don't do

• We don't require an account or collect your name, email or phone number
• We don't sell your personal information
• We don't use analytics or crash-reporting services
• We don't access your contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone or location

Children's privacy

DarkChess is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will help.

Deleting your data

DarkChess has no accounts and we hold no data about you. To remove everything the app has stored, clear its storage in Android Settings → Apps → DarkChess → Storage, or uninstall it.

Changes and contact
