About this policy
This policy explains how the BoloBee Android app (package com.ssamiyal.bolobee), published by SAMIYAL Technologies ("SAMIYAL", "we", "us"), handles information.
In short: everything you do in BoloBee stays on your phone. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking, and we don't run servers that receive your data.
Information stored on your device
The app stores the following only on your device:
- Your onboarding answers (learning goal, English level, daily goal) and settings
- Your learning progress: XP, streak, finished lessons, mistakes to review and your review schedule
- Words you choose to save
- Course packs you download
We cannot see or access any of this. If Android backup is turned on, Android may include your progress, saved words and settings in your device backup, handled by Google under your Google account settings. Downloaded course packs are not included in backups.
Downloading courses
When you open Downloads or download a course, the app connects to our course library, a file storage service run by Cloudflare, to fetch the list of courses and the course files. These requests contain no personal information, but like any internet request they reveal your device's IP address to Cloudflare, which processes it to deliver the files under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Lessons you have downloaded, and the course built into the app, work offline.
Pronunciation audio
Spoken English comes from recordings inside the course or from your phone's own text-to-speech engine, which runs on your device under its provider's privacy policy (for most phones, Google's). BoloBee only plays audio; it never listens or records your voice.
What we don't collect
- No account, name, email address or phone number
- No advertising identifiers, analytics or crash-reporting tools
- No location, contacts, microphone, camera, photos or files
- No in-app purchases or ads
Children's privacy
BoloBee collects no personal information from anyone of any age, and contains no ads or in-app purchases.
Deleting your data
Profile → Reset all data permanently erases your progress, saved words and settings on this device. Downloads → Remove deletes a downloaded course pack. Uninstalling the app removes everything.
